Map the weekly journeys before hiring
To hire a family driver in Islamabad, list the journeys that happen every week: school runs, office travel, appointments and regular family commitments. Include pickup times, likely waiting periods and the end of the working day. A driver needs to understand the complete routine, not just the first journey.
Explain whether trips remain within Islamabad or often cross into Rawalpindi. Give the vehicle type and whether it is manual or automatic. If you need occasional longer journeys, discuss those separately along with rest and arrangements for time away. We do not assume every applicant is available for unrestricted out-of-city travel.
Check driving experience against the vehicle and routes
Ask about relevant vehicle experience, licence details and references. Arrange any practical assessment responsibly with the candidate’s agreement. Familiarity with an Islamabad sector does not replace competent driving or establish suitability for your particular vehicle. Use the interview to ask how route changes and delays would be communicated.
Set rules for who may authorise trips, who can travel and what to do when pickup instructions conflict. For school collection, explain the household’s handover arrangements clearly. These are practical instructions for your family’s routine; they should be agreed before the driver begins handling regular journeys.
Define waiting time and non-driving duties
Some households need vehicle cleaning, fuel checks or errands between trips. State which tasks are included and make sure they do not interfere with fixed collections. Heavy maintenance and specialist repairs require the appropriate expertise; a family driver’s title does not guarantee those skills.
Document hours, salary, payment date and leave. You pay the worker’s salary directly, while our one-time placement fee equals one month of the agreed salary. Six-month replacement support is subject to written conditions. Review the first week using punctuality, communication and the agreed responsibilities, rather than adding more destinations without revisiting the schedule.

Does the driver role include car maintenance?
